Karamoja Girl Education Initiative pays tuition and boarding fees for girls to attend schools that offer quality education needed to prepare students for employment and higher educational opportunities. The program also pays for mentoring and training programs to support the academic success of the girls, and to prepare them for leadership. Program costs include uniforms, school supplies and personal supplies like toiletries and feminine hygiene products.
To fulfill our mission, KAGEI provides education for Karamojong girls in Kaabong district in the sub counties of Kathile, Sidok and Kaabong Town Council in Karamoja Region, North Eastern Uganda. The program serves both primary and secondary students and also offers some post graduate programs such as computer skills and entrepreneurship which are not commonly taught in remote schools.
